In the viral video, you can see a dog startled in sleep. He woke up and acted weird as if he felt something strange.
A media organization Jantantra TV News has shared the video.
The same video has also been used for another earthquake that happened in Nepal on 9th Nov 2022.
As per a report in The Indian Express, an earthquake struck Delhi for the second time this week. Delhi-NCR felt tremors. The epicenter of the earthquake was Nepal.
'On Saturday, an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale hit Nepal around 7.57 pm, at a depth of around 10 km, and 212 km southeast of Joshimath in Uttarakhand, according to the National Centre for Seismology. Fact Check
NewsMeter performed a reverse image search to find the origin of the video. The search led us to the same video on a YouTube channel J&K TV published on 21st January 2021. The video was titled '1.20.2021 Magnitude 7.1 Davao earthquake'.
Taking a hint from the title, we assumed the location to be Davao Del Sur, which is in the Philippines.
For further confirmation, we ran a keyword search to find media reports on the incident. We found a media report by Rappler. It said: "A magnitude 7.1 earthquake was detected at sea off Davao Occidental on Thursday, January 21, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs)."
The earthquake that struck at 8:23 pm was located 231 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental.
It is evident that the visuals hail from 2021 Philippines and not a recent one.
Hence, the claim is false.
