Fact Check
NewsMeter performed a reverse image of the video's keyframe and found a longer version of the video tweeted by the official handle of Zee Business on 5 January 2018. According to the caption, banking became expensive from 20 January 2018.
We also found that on 10 January 2018, former finance secretary Rajiv Kumar, in a tweet, clarified that there were no proposals by banks to discontinue free services. He also said no blanket rule has been imposed and termed the message doing the rounds on social media rumors.
In another tweet, Mr. Kumar posted a press release by the Indian Bank Association which stated that blanket removal of free charges is neither being moved by banks nor is such a thing being contemplated. It also said, "banks looking at their operational and commercial costs would examine and revise charges."
It is evident that the viral video of Zee Business dates back to 2018. Also, rumors about changes in bank rules have been doing the rounds since 2018. Hence, we conclude that the claim is false.
