HYDERABAD: Social media users claim that an Oxford University study has revealed the details about the crucifixion of Jesus and his injuries.
"The following information is published by OXFORD University Research Scholars. Rare information about Jesus, his labors and crucifixion," reads the message circulated on WhatsApp
It goes on to list the weight of the cross, the thickness of nails, number of wounds, number of thorns pierced through his head, etc.
FACT CHECK:
In 2015, the University of Oxford launched a center for the study of religious relics. This idea was researchers could use the latest scientific methods to pinpoint chronologies, conduct DNA analysis and find historical and material evidence to identify objects of special interest.

However, no result related to the study on Jesus' crucifixion has been published by the University. If it had been, media organizations would have reported it. But no reports supporting this claim were found.
There is no evidence that the Oxford study has revealed Jesus' injuries during the crucifixion.
Thus, the claim is false.
