Soon after this statement, several social media users especially Facebook have started sharing videos of oxygen tankers. Users claim the tankers are being sent from Pakistan to India.
One such video shows tankers being transported on a train shared with the claim: "Oxygen tankers For Indians Help Going from Pakistan to India Viral Video."
The claim that Pakistan is transporting Oxygen tankers to India is FALSE.
When the keyframes from the video were used to perform Google reverse image search, we found several results confirming that this video shows the 'Oxygen express' that was sent from Visakhapatnam steel plant to Mumbai.
The Steel plant, which the central government is planning to privatize, is saving lives in pandemic. The first 'Oxygen Express' left Vizag steel plant (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd) with 100 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen is seven tankers carried by goods train for Mumbai.
Last week, it sent 400 tonnes of liquid medical oxygen to various destinations in Andhra Pradesh and other states. And it is also planning to set up three more plants to increase the oxygen supply. RINL said they will work round the clock to meet the demand.
Here is the video of Visakhapatnam steel plant gearing up for supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has tweeted a longer version of the viral video on April 22, 2021."The first 'Oxygen Express' train loaded with liquid medical oxygen tankers has left for Maharashtra from Vizag. Railways continue to serve the nation in difficult times by transporting essential commodities and driving innovation to ensure the wellbeing of all citizens," he said.
