Fact Check

The claim is false.

NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found a news report by NewsNation TV. The report said the photo is from Bihar from 2019. Twenty-five districts in the state received heavy rains that year and the situation was so severe that the disaster management department had called an emergency meeting in Patna. The report, which carries the viral image, stated that the entire clothing store had been submerged in the floodwaters.

The same was also reported by NaiDunia and Inkabar in 2019. The reports further said the incident took place at a Raymond's showroom in Hathwa Market, Patna. A YouTube channel, Live Cities Media Private Limited, had uploaded a video in September 2019 of the flooded clothing store and said it was from Patna.

The viral image is from Bihar during the 2019 floods and not from the 2021 rains in Mumbai. Hence, the claim is false.
