Photo of Bangladesh park falsely shared as Srinagar’s revamped Boulevard Road
The photo shows a road inside a park in Bangladesh.

Hyderabad: A photo of a beautiful road lit up during the night is doing the rounds on social media. Those sharing the photo claim it shows Boulevard Road in Srinagar, which has been given a makeover for the G20 Summit in Kashmir.
A Twitter user shared the photo and wrote, “…This is Boulevard Road in Srinagar has been given a magnificent makeover to welcome delegates from across the world for the #G20Kashmir summit.” (Archive)

The claim comes in the backdrop of the third G20 tourism working group meeting taking place from 22–24 May at the SKICC on the banks of the Dal Lake in Srinagar.
Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the photo shows a road inside a park in Bangladesh.
On performing a reverse image search, we found that the photo was uploaded on 6 February 2023 by a Facebook user Jhautola Patuakhal as a display picture.
Taking a cue from this, we ran a keyword search and found that Jhautola Patuakhali is a park in Patuakhali, Bangladesh. We found the same photo uploaded on Google Maps in February.
Next, we found that several Instagram users have shared similar images tagging the location as Jhautola Patuakhal.
We also found a video published on 11 October 2022, which showed Boulevard Road in Srinagar. The visuals also do not match the viral image.
Hence, we conclude that the viral image does not show revamped Boulevard Road in Srinagar, and the claim is false.
