Heeraben Modi passed away on 30 December at the age of 99.
Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the viral photo has been digitally altered, and the original photo dates back to 2017.
We searched for the latest photos of Mr. Modi and found a video of him addressing the 108th Indian Science Congress. The video was uploaded on his YouTube channel on 3 January. In the video, he does not have a shaved head.
Next, we performed a reverse image search of the viral image and found the original image in an article published by Money Control in 2017. According to the caption, the photo was taken on the first day of the Winter season of the Parliament.
Finally, we compared the viral image with the original one and found that the viral image has been morphed.
It is evident that the viral image is morphed. Hence, we conclude that the claim that Mr. Modi shaved his head after his mother's demise is false.
