Fact:The claim is false. The full speech of PM Modi at the event does not contain any such remarks. The clip is AI-manipulated.

Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on December 25, 2025, on the occasion of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee's birth centenary.

On stage, he delivered a nearly 30-minute address, reflecting on the legacies of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, while highlighting government achievements in welfare, infrastructure, and national unity.
Amid this, a video began circulating on X claiming that the Prime Minister threatened Bangladesh over potential Pakistani intervention and reminded them of India's "favours" in 1971. The viral video shows PM Modi purportedly saying, “People in Bangladesh should not be under the misconception that Pakistan will come to their rescue. We know Pakistan’s so-called Mullah Field Marshal, and we know how to deal with him. History is a reminder of 1971, when Pakistan was defeated and Bangladesh was formed. If required, we can demonstrate our strength again.”

The clip was shared in an X post by a user with the caption, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivering a speech during the inauguration of the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow,” and has garnered thousands of views.(Archive)

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. PM Modi did not make any comments about Bangladesh, Pakistan, or the 1971 war during the inauguration of Rashtra Prerna Sthal.

Through a keyword search, NewsMeter traced the original video and its transcript to the official website of the Prime Minister's Office (pmindia.gov.in). The full transcript titled “PM’s address during the inauguration of Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow” was uploaded on December 25, 2025.
The speech focused on tributes to national leaders, welfare schemes like Antyodaya and social security expansions, infrastructure developments such as rural roads and defense corridors, and criticisms of past dynastic politics. Key quotes included praises for abrogation of Article 370 and calls for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).
A similar unedited version of the video is also available on YouTube channel of Narendra Modi, confirming that the original content contains no references to Bangladesh or any threats.

Analysis of the video
NewsMeter compared the audio from the viral clip with the original speech. The tone, pacing, and voice modulation in the viral video do not match PM Modi’s delivery in the source footage. This discrepancy indicates that the viral clip uses manipulated or dubbed audio layered over visuals from the actual event.
We analysed the video using Deepfake-O-Meter. Two of its detectors flagged that the audio is likely AI-generated with a 100 and 83.4 per cent confidence score.

The viral video claiming to show Prime Minister Narendra Modi threatening Bangladesh has been manipulated through the addition of AI-generated audio. Therefore, the claim is false.
