Claim: The video shows Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi visiting the New Delhi Railway Station stampede victims of February 15.
Fact: The claim is false. The video shows the Gandhi siblings visiting the Kerala landslide victims in August 2024.
Hyderabad: On February 15, a massive stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station resulted in at least 18 deaths and numerous injuries. The incident took place around 8 pm as thousands of passengers gathered to board trains heading to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
In this context, a video circulating on social media shows Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi wearing masks while visiting what appears to be a hospital-like setting. Priyanka Gandhi is also seen hugging people in the room. The accompanying claim suggests that the Gandhi siblings visited the victims of the New Delhi Railway Station stampede.
An X user shared the video and wrote, āWho is responsible for the deaths in the stampede at Delhi Railway Station ā the opposition? The Prime Minister and the Railway Minister should resign as soon as possible. Respected Rahul Gandhi stands with the people of the country and the families of those who lost their lives in the Delhi tragedy.ā
