Fact Check: Ranveer Allahbadia’s apology video—Does he say ‘work stopped because of me’? Here’s what he said
A video of ‘Beer Biceps’ Ranveer Allahbadia crying and apologising has gone viral as his reaction to the controversy from his statements on ‘India’s Got Latent’.

Claim: The video shows Ranveer Allahbadia’s reaction to the backlash from his statements on the India’s Got Latent show.
Fact: The claim is false. The video clip is from a video in 2021 where he spoke about testing positive for Covid-19.
Hyderabad: The recent controversy surrounding the show ‘India’s Got Latent’ is intensifying each day after a clip of podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beer Biceps went viral on social media. Netizens are demanding strict action against Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija who were involved in the show and many politicians have also reacted to the incident.
On the other hand, many are taking to social media to express disappointment over the ‘attention the controversy is garnering over other serious issues in the country.’
In this context, a video clip of Ranveer Allahbadia is circulating online with the claim that it shows his reaction to the controversy flared up in his name.
In the video clip, Ranveer can be seen crying while speaking into the camera saying, “This is the reason I feel bad because all of the work has come to a stop (expletive). I just feel damn guilty. I have exposed the whole team to this. Because of me, the whole work has come to a stop.” (Translated from Hindi)
The video was posted by an X user with the caption, “I feel bad because of that, because of me the whole work stopped... (expletive)... Hello @BeerBicepsGuy aka Ranbir Allahabadi... one should not feel bad because work has stopped. Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The viral clip is from an old YouTube video of Ranveer Allahbadia.
Using a reverse image search of the video’s keyframes, we found a video uploaded to the YouTube channel of Ranveer Allahbadia with the title ‘This Is NOT Clickbait - My Covid-19 Experience | Vlog 24.’ The video was uploaded on Apr 7, 2021.
The viral clip of Ranveer can be found at the 0:30-minute mark in the YouTube video.
In the extended video, Ranveer is heard saying that he tested positive for Covid-19 and that he is feeling bad because he exposed his entire team to the virus. Further into the video, his team members can be seen getting tested and immunity boosters being distributed.
The description of the video read, “Hello friends! As you all know, a few days ago I got Corona due to which I was in quarantine for 14 days. On the morning of March 13, 2021, I tested positive for Covid and all the work has stopped and what’s worse is that because of me my whole BeerBiceps Team can also be at risk of Corona.” (Translated from Hindi)
We also found that Ranveer made a response video addressing the controversy and his statements from the show which is different from the viral video in the claim. On February 10, Ranveer Allahbadia took to X issuing an apology video. The video was uploaded with the caption: “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s got latent. I’m sorry.”
Calling the statements a lapse in judgement, he stated that he has asked the makers to remove the insensitive sections from the video. The same video was uploaded to Ranveer Allahbadia’s Instagram channel on the same day.
Therefore, NewsMeter concludes that the claim is false.
