Sachin Tendulkar did not announce the engagement of daughter Sara with Subhuman Gill
A Twitter user, Harsh, in a tweet, claimed that Sachin Tendulkar has announced the engagement of his daughter Sara Tendulkar with Shubman Gill.

Hyderabad: On 18 January, Shubman Gill hit his maiden double century in the first ODI match between India and New Zealand in Hyderabad. He became the fifth Indian player after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, and Ishan Kishan to achieve the feat.
Following this, a Twitter user, Harsh, in a tweet, claimed that Sachin Tendulkar has announced the engagement of his daughter Sara Tendulkar with Shubman Gill. (Archive)

Fact Check
NewsMeter found that Sachin Tendulkar has not made any such announcement.
We ran a keyword search to find any report of Sachin Tendulkar announcing the engagement of his daughter but did not find any reports. Had he made any such announcement, the media would have reported it.
Next, we searched the social media accounts of Sachin Tendulkar, Sara Tendulkar, and Shubman Gill but we did not find any such announcement.
Further, six hours after making the claim, Harsh commented on the earlier post and said, “It’s a satire tweet guys! Don’t take it seriously.”
Hence, we conclude that the claim that Sachin Tendulkar has announced the engagement of his daughter with Shubman Gill is false.
