Fact Check: Sadhguru’s photo with daughter goes viral with misleading claim
A photo of Sadhguru and a woman has gone viral, with social media users deeming their relationship as inappropriate.

Claim: A photo of Sadhguru and a woman sitting on his lap is being shared as being inappropriate.
Fact: The viral claim is false. The woman is Radhe Jaggi, Sadhguru’s daughter.
Hyderabad: A purported photo of spiritual leader and founder of Isha Foundation Jagadish ‘Jaggi’ Vasudev and a woman sitting on his lap has gone viral.
Insinuating an inappropriate relationship between the two, an X user shared the photo and wrote, “What’s the deal with this baba?” (Translated from Hindi)

NewsMeter found that the claim is false. The woman is Radhe Jaggi, Sadhguru’s daughter.
Scanning through Sadhguru’s social media handles, we found the same image in an X post shared by him on June 17, 2018. The caption read, “A fortune to spend an hour with my dear father and they tell me it is #FathersDay.” An image of Sadhguru with his father was also shared in the post, which hinted that the woman in the photo is his daughter.
We also found that on June 16, 2024, Sadhguru shared a candid image of him and his daughter on the occasion of Father’s Day. The caption read, “On Father's Day, here are some candid pictures of Sadhguru with his daughter Radhe.” Another account named Radhe Jaggi was tagged in the post, which belonged to the woman in the image. The account described Radhe Jaggi as a ‘Bharatanatyam artist’ and it contained several photos of Radhe Jaggi and Sadhguru.
On a Google reverse image search, we found a compilation of images and videos of Sadhguru and his daughter in a Facebook post shared on June 16, 2019. The caption read, “Sadhguru shares an heartmelting experience with his Daughter Radhe on this Father's Day! BEST DAD EVER!”
The compilation, which started with the viral image of them together, shared more moments of them from childhood to adult life. There was also a video of Sadhguru describing his parenting style and the moments he spent with her when she was a child. The last image in the compilation was a photo of Radhe in traditional Indian dance attire.
We further searched with relevant keywords and found an article published by Deccan Chronicle on November 26, 2017. The article carried an image of Radhe Jaggi performing on stage. The report stated that Radhe Jaggi, the daughter of Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev, has trained in Bharatanatyam at Kalakshetra.
We also found a Facebook post, dated August 16, 2020, of Radhe speaking about her family and growing up knowing about her father’s legacy. In a profile made by Jagran TV on Radhe, it is stated that she is married to one of the leading vocalists of Indian classical music. After Sadhguru went through emergency brain surgery, the media shared updates about his health given by Radhe, referring to her as his daughter.
In an interview shared on Sadhguru’s YouTube channel titled ‘Parenting: How Sadhguru Nurtured His Daughter Radhe,’ Sadhguru can be seen speaking about his daughter and his parenting style. At the end of the video, at the 8:47-minute mark, a collage of two photos can be seen. One photo is an old photo of Sadhguru holding a child, and the other is a viral image, which confirms that the woman in it is his daughter Radhe Jaggi.
Therefore, we conclude that the claim is false.
