Salman Khan's photo with Kumbh Mela's viral sensation Monalisa Bhosale is digitally altered

Hyderabad: Monalisa Bhosle, a 16-year-old girl from the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, made headlines on national television and social media after she was spotted at Prayagraj's Maha Kumbh Mela. She became an overnight sensation for her striking looks.

According to The Week, Monalisa took the internet by storm when a content creator filmed her selling beaded necklaces to attendees at the ensuing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The video quickly went viral on social media, sparking a frenzy among people eager to catch a glimpse of the viral sensation.

In this context, a set of images of Monalisa with Salman Khan are being shared on social media. A Facebook user shared the image with the caption, “Viral girl Monalisa Salman Khan Happy moment together| Salman Khan Monalisa meet together.” (Archive)

However, we noticed anomalies in the images, such as Salman Khan’s distorted face, which suggested possible AI manipulation. To verify, we analysed the image using the AI-detection tool Hive Moderation, which indicated an 87 per cent likelihood of AI-generated or deepfake content.

We also found the original images shared by Salman Khan on Mother’s Day in 2023 on Instagram. Both images feature him alongside his mother.

Monalisa gets a film offer

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra has offered Monalisa a role in his Bollywood film, The Diary of Manipur.

In a video announcement, he revealed plans to feature her in the movie. He also shared footage of his visit to her village, where he met her family and observed their modest lifestyle. Mishra stated that he has taken on the responsibility of introducing the viral sensation to the industry and helping secure her future.
