Hyderabad: A video of South Korea's Armed Forces Day parade held in 2017 is being widely shared on social media. The video went viral overnight on Facebook with the claim that it was a video of the Indian Army.

The post has garnered over 210K likes and 14K shares as of now.

The video shows men displaying amazing combat and defense skills. Let's check if the video is of the Indian Army.

Fact Check

The first thing we noticed was the uniform of the soldier in the video and the badge on his arms. We performed rigorous keyword searches on Google and found that neither the uniform nor the badge was of the Indian Army. Instead, we discovered that they matched the South Korean Army's uniform.

Taking a cue from this, NewsMeter ran a reverse image search and found the same visuals posted on a Facebook page called KyuktooKi Korean Kickboxing Brazil. This further confirmed that the video is linked to the South Korean Army.

NewsMeter then performed a keyword search on YouTube and found a channel called 'Defense Flash News' that had published the full video with the title, "K Force TV - South Korea Armed Forces Day Parade 2017 - Special Forces Extreme Taekwondo Demo!" This proved that the video was from the 2017 South Korea Armed Forces Day Parade.

It is evident that the video shows the South Korean Army and not the Indian Army. Hence, the claim is false.
