Fact Check: SRK, Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey at Maha Kumbh? No, here’s the truth…

Hyderabad: Lakhs of devotees are taking part in the Maha Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. Political leaders, film celebrities, and foreigners are making a beeline to take a dip in the holy river at the Kumbh Mela.

Two images showing Shah Rukh Khan with American wrestlers Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey at the Maha Kumbh are going viral on social media. We can see the three celebrities taking selfies while wearing saffron-colored clothes in one image and red-colored clothes in another.

These images have been shared on Facebook with the caption, “Ronda Rousey and Roman Reigns with Shahrukh Khan in Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj”. (Archive)

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the viral claims were false. The images currently circulating are generated through Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Reverse image searches of both viral images did not show any relevant visual matches.

We perform several keyword searches to find any trustworthy reports of Shah Rukh Khan, Roman Reigns, and Ronda Rousey visiting the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj. We found no such reports.

Upon closely examining the posts we found that the images have the tell-tale signs of AI manipulation such as distorted body features, oddly detailed clothes and hair, and overtly blurry background elements.

Using Hive Moderation we checked to see if the image was generated using AI. The Hive Moderation tool determined that both images are over 80 percent likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content.

Another tool, Decopy.ai confirmed that both images are fake, with over 90 percent probability of being AI-generated.

Hence NewsMeter determines that the viral claims are false as the images are AI-generated.
