Did `The Simpsons' predict Meta Threads logo?

Hyderabad: Social media users are claiming that The Simpsons already predicted Meta's Threads logo. Several social media users are sharing the image with a claim that The Simpsons predicted the Meta Threads logo on 7th July 2023. A user account shared this post on Twitter.

Later it raised a lot of eyebrows on Twitter.

In the viral image, we can see that the new metal thread logo is as same as Simpson's ears.

Recently, Meta announced a new platform for better conversations on the same platform called Threads on 5th July 2023.

Although, everyone loved the new add-on the buzz around the logo and The Simpsons making predictions is never-ending.

Fact check

NewsMeter found the claim to be false as the original image of Homer Simpson is not the same as in the viral image.

We started our investigation by performing a keyword search on the web to find out what the original features of Homer Simpson look like. Through our search, we found the ears shown in the viral image are not the same as the original image on the web.

For further confirmation, we analyzed a whole episode of The Simpson and found no similarity between Homer Simpson’s ear and the new Meta Thread logo (@).

Lastly, this is not the first time The Simpsons is on the public radar for making predictions and being involved in conspiracy theories.

Hence, it is evident that the viral image is edited.
