Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the woman in the video raising the slogans is Nighat Abbas, a spokesperson for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi.
We found that the same video was tweeted by the verified Twitter handle of Nighat Abbas on 17 May 2019. Tagging several BJP leaders in the tweet, she wrote, “Along with me, the Muslim community raised its voice demanding freedom from Congress and Kejriwal.”
In her Twitter bio, Abbas has identified herself as a spokesperson for BJP Delhi.
In 2020, she had quoted-tweeted BJP leader Arun Yadav’s tweet and clarified that the video was shot while she was campaigning for BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
