Fact Check: This video does not depict Khans of Bollywood performing Aarti at Anant Ambani’s wedding

Hyderabad: The extravagant pre-wedding celebration of Anant Ambani, the youngest scion of the Ambani family, spanned three days from March 1 to 3 in Gujarat's Jamnagar. The event saw the attendance of notable figures, including Bill Gates, Sundar Pichai, and Bollywood celebrities.

Against this backdrop, a video portraying an Aarti performance is circulating on social media, accompanied by claims that it was organised by the Ambanis as part of Anand’s pre-wedding celebration, and they orchestrated the Khans of Bollywood to participate in the Aarti.

The video is shared with the caption, ‘Just look at who all the Ambanis are making do Aarti... This is the return gift from Mukesh Bhai to the Rihannas, Khans & Drugwoodiyas. No one can even think of surpassing this climax... Anant Ambani's pre-marriage celebrations end....!!!! God ceases to exist when the ego takes precedence!!’

NewsMeter found that the claim is false, as the video is from Isha Ambani's pre-wedding celebrations, during which the Ambani family organised a Maha Aarti in Udaipur ahead of the function.

Through a reverse image search of the viral video’s keyframes, we identified a longer version of the same video uploaded to a YouTube channel named “WeddingSutra” on December 12, 2018. The title of the video reads, “Maha Aarti in Udaipur - Isha Ambani & Anand Piramal - Pre Wedding Celebrations.”

Moving forward, we also found an extended and higher-resolution version of the Aarti ceremony in a Business Today report published on December 12, 2018. According to this report as well, the video was from Isha Ambani's wedding.

According to a December 2018 India Today report featuring visuals from the Aarti, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's pre-wedding celebrations were held on December 8 and 9, 2018, at Oberoi Udaivilas and Lake Palace in Udaipur. The report states that before the wedding commenced, guests, including Hillary Clinton and Bollywood A-listers, participated in a 'Maha Aarti' at the venue.

Many Bollywood celebrities, such as Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and others, actively participated in the pre-wedding celebrations of Isha Ambani in Udaipur.

However, it is noteworthy that none of the videos from the Aarti featured the Bollywood Khans. Hence, it is clear that the video in question originates from Isha Ambani's pre-wedding celebration five years ago.
