A Time magazine cover dated February 28-March 7, 2022, allegedly comparing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Nazi dictator Hitler is viral on social media. It shows cropped parts of Trudeauās face with a portion of Hitlerās on the magazine cover titled āTHE RETURN OF HISTORY.ā
An X (formerly Twitter ) user shared the Magzine cover with the caption, āAm I supposed to be shocked that the same party who forced experimental injections on the population and created a two-tier society for the ācleanā and the ādirtyā invited a SS Nazi and gave him a standing ovation?ā

NewsMeter found that the cover page has been digitally morphed. Time has not published any such edition comparing Trudeau to Hitler.
At the right bottom corner, the viral image has been credited to Patrick Mulder. Upon a reverse image, we found a similar Time Magazine cover comparing Russian President Vladimir Putin to Hiter posted by Mulder on X.
In the caption, Mulder mentioned that he created the image the day Russia invaded Ukraine. He also said that he designed the cover because the Time magazine cover was uninspiring and lacked conviction. He also mentioned that it was not originally a Time magazine cover.
On comparing the viral image and the one created by Mulder, we found the magazine issue date, title and the outfit same. This indicates that the viral image has been created by swapping Putinās face with Trudeau's.
Further, we found the original Time Magazine cover, dated February 28-March 7, 2022, titled āKid of the Yearā. It has no connection with either Trudeau or Putin.
We also found that Time Magazine published an edition titled āThe Return of History - How Putin Shattered Europe's Dreamā, dated March 14-March 21, 2022. It featured military personnel inside a tank, not a comparison of either Putin or Trudeau with Hitler.
Hence, we conclude that the viral Time Magazine cover comparing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Nazi dictator Hitler is morphed.
