The claim is false.

NewsMeter found a report by News 18. During the 2021 state assembly election, MK Stalin had announced that he would provide a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000 to women.

Although the DMK won the assembly elections, the specific election promise has not yet been implemented. According to the Indian Express, the CM will definitely provide the Rs 1,000 monthly financial assistance to women family heads soon.

Further, Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan also gave an explanation and shared the information on Twitter. He tweeted that the viral claim is false. The promise of Rs. 1,000 will be fulfilled.

Hence, the claim is false.
