Fact Check
NewsMeter found that Uday Kotak is not on LinkedIn. The post was made by an impostor falsely claiming that Kotak is promoting cryptocurrency.
We looked for the LinkedIn account that made the post and found a mere 990 followers and 214 posts, which gave us the suspicion that it could be a fake account. The bio read, ‘Founder, MD & CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank Chairman of IL&Fs.’
Further, we ran a keyword search and came across two reports by Business Line. According to the reports, Kotak stepped down from the position of Mahindra Bank CEO in September 2023 and as the chairman of IL&FS in March 2022. Click here and here to view the posts.
