By Newsmeter Network Published on 5 Jan 2022 6:04 PM ISTHYDERABAD: A set of four images of a restaurant in Coimbatore serving biryani mixed with 'impotence pills' to its Hindu customers is viral on social media.
It is being claimed that biryani is being served with the aim to control the Hindu population in the country.
"In Coimbatore, a fast food restaurant called 'Masha Allah' uses two utensils to cook biryani and has separate pots one for Hindus and one for Muslims, so they can give 'impotence pills' to Hindu customers and stop the population growth of Hindus," reads the claim.

FACT CHECK:
The images used in the posts are old and unrelated. They are shared with false communal claims.
Image 1:
The same picture was carried in a tweet by Bijnor Police's verified Twitter account in July 2019. The Uttar Pradesh police raided a madrasa, seized illegal weapons, and arrested six people. The viral picture is related to the 2019 incident.

The same picture was carried in a report by the Sri Lankan newspaper 'The Daily Mirror' in May 2019. The 'Sri Lankan Special Task Force' had seized drugs and tablets worth Rs. 4 million during a raid in Colombo and taken a father and a son into custody. The viral picture is related to this 2019 incident.
Image 3:
The same picture was found as the thumbnail for a YouTube video. The video shows how to prepare dum biryani for 30 people. The video was posted on 1 July 2016 and has received over 43 lakh views.
Image 4:
The picture is related to the madrasa and house raid conducted by Bijnor Police (mentioned earlier). Two people seen walking alongside policemen are the accused.
Clearly, all four images are not related to each other and are not linked to any incident of a restaurant in Coimbatore serving biryani mixed with 'impotence pills' to its Hindu customers.
Moreover, such an incident did not take place in Coimbatore. No report was found that supported the claim. The same claim was viral in 2020. Coimbatore City Police's tweeted that it is 'fake news'.
Don't spread fake news. Be responsible user of social media. No one should believe this tweet handle as it is spreading fake news. CCP is working to trace this handle.
