Unrelated video from Indore shared as Hanuman Janmotsav in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A video of a massive crowd playing with colours is being shared on social media suggesting that it is from the recent Hanuman Janmotsav in Hyderabad.

In the viral video, a huge number of people can be seen dancing and throwing colours in the air on the beats of a dhol on a jam-packed street.

NewsMeter found that the viral video is an old video from Indore.

On performing a reverse image search using keyframes extracted from the video using InVid tool, we found media reports on Agniban and News Puran carrying images from the same video. They said the scenes were from Indore’s Rangpanchami celebrations dated 22 nd March 2022.

Moreover, we also found the same images uploaded on the verified Twitter handle of Newsera clarifying that the video is from Indore Rang Panchmi celebration last year.

The tweet reads, “It is a whole different experience to celebrate Rang Panchami in Indore! Oh, the people, the colours, the zeal, the vibe - Just unmatchable.”

For further confirmation, we performed a keyword search on YouTube and found the same video on the official YouTube channel of Amar Ujala as well. From this, it is evident that the video is not a recent one from Hyderabad.
