Hyderabad: A screenshot of a tweet purportedly by President Joe Biden mocking Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to the United States is going viral on social media. The alleged tweet dated 31 May reads, “We welcome Rahul Gandhi to the USA. But just because India has become free from open defecation under the leadership of Narendra Modi, it doesn’t mean that you can come to my country to sh*t in open whenever you want.”

NewsMeter verified that the US President did not tweet such remarks about Rahul Gandhi, and the viral screenshot is fabricated.

We ran an advanced search of the tweet on Twitter but could not find any such tweet from the official handle of the US President.

We also skimmed through the official account of the US President but did not find any such tweet dated 31 May.
