The video comes amidst the massive uprising against the Iranian theocratic rule after the death of 22-year-old Masha Amini in police custody, who was arrested in Tehran for "unsuitable attire" by the morality police that enforces strict dress codes for women.
Fact Check
NewsMeter performed a reverse image search of the video's keyframes and found a longer version on YouTube. The video was uploaded on 22 October 2021. The description stated that the father is dancing at her daughter's funeral; however, it also mentions that the video clip is from the Azerbaijani series "Ata Ochagi."
Taking this a cue, we ran a keyword search and again found the viral clip in a longer video uploaded by a verified YouTube channel, XÉzÉr Film, in 2018. The description stated that "Ata Ochagi" is a psychological drama based on family conflict directed by Rufat Shahbazov.
We also found that the actor seen dancing in the viral video is Gurban Ismayilov and his images used in an interview given to the Azerbaiajini website TEATRO sÉnÉt portalı.
It is evident that the viral video is from the Azerbaijani drama series Ata Ochagi. Hence, the claim is false.
