Hyderabad: On 17 July, IndiGo's Sharjah-Hyderabad flight was diverted to Pakistan's Karachi after the pilot reported a technical defect in the aircraft. Amidst this chaos, a video of passengers chanting "Har Har Mahadev" was uploaded by News and only News on its YouTube channel.
The news agency shared the video with the title, "IndiGo flight makes emergency landing in Karachi; Passenger chants 'Har Har Mahadev'."
The same video was shared by multiple Twitter users with the claim that the video was shot inside the Sharjah-Hyderabad flight which was diverted to Pakistan's Karachi.
FACT CHECK
NewsMeter performed a reverse image search and found that multiple Twitter users had shared the same video mentioning the video was taken by passengers on the first Kolkata-Deoghar flight on 12 July. Netizens shared the video with the caption, "As the first flight from Kolkata was about to land at Deoghar today, the passengers started chanting in unison 'Bol Bam', 'Har Har Mahadev', 'Baba Vaidyanath ki jai', and 'Jai Shiv'."

NewsMeter further performed a keyword search on YouTube and found the video uploaded by multiple users with the caption, "First Flight Landing at Deaoghar airport." The date and description clearly show that the video was taken on the Kolkata-Deaoghar flight during landing. (Click here, here, and here to view the videos.)
News Nation had also uploaded the video and said it was shot on a flight to Deaoghar on 12 July 2022.
From these, it is evident that the video is not related to the IndiGo Sharjah-Hyderabad flight. Hence, the claim is false.
