FACT CHECK:

It should be noted that only two judges can be seen in the video. The hijab case was heard by a three-judge bench. This suggests that the video is not related to the hijab case.

NewsMeter searched through the recent videos available on the Karnataka High Court's YouTube channel and found the original one. The hearing took place on March 3, 2022. The viral part can be seen at 36:00 minutes.

According to the official website of the High Court of Karnataka, the case was related to a commercial appeal filed under Section 37 of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996. The case was between Bengaluru resident M Venkatesh who was the petitioner and the Commissioner, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike who was the respondent. The case was heard by Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi and Justice SR Krishna Kumar. The appeal was dismissed.

The video is unrelated to the hijab row.

Moreover, the claim that the advocate has been "stripped off" of his license is also false as the court did not proceed any further considering the young age of the advocate.

A video of the Karnataka High Court reprimanding a lawyer in connection to a commercial appeal is being falsely linked to the Hijab row.
