“Bhagwa Love Trap” is allegedly a counter to the “Love Jihad conspiracy” wherein Hindu men are trapping Muslim women in relationships and marriages. The alleged conspiracy aims to convert Muslim women to the Hindu religion.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found that the video is from Bangladesh.

Upon reverse image search of the video’s keyframe, we found an extended version of the video posted by a Facebook user on July 8, 2020. The caption stated that the video shows Nurul Haque — the headmaster of Uzirpur Sonar Bangla Secondary School in the Barisal district.

Barisal is a district in South Central Bangladesh.

Taking a cue from this, we ran a keyword search in Bangla and came across a report from Bangladesh-based KalerKantho from July 22, 2020. The report carried the stills from the viral video.

It said that the video dates back to 2016 and identified that man as the headmaster of Sonar Bangla Secondary School of Uzirpur, Nurul Haque Sarder.

We found the stills from the video in multiple reports of 2022, which identified the person as Nurul Haque Sarder. (Click here, here and here to read the reports.)

Hence, we conclude that a video from Bangladesh that shows a teacher inappropriately touching a student is being falsely linked to the alleged conspiracy “Bhagwa Love Trap.”
