NewsMeter found that the claim that the man in the video is a Muslim is false.
A reverse image search of the video's keyframes led us to a report by Aaj Tak that carried stills from the video. It said the incident took place in a school in the Chhota Udepur district of Gujarat.
It identifies the accused as Yogesh, a teacher, who got drunk and created a ruckus.
We also found that Zee24 Kalak had reported the incident on 31 December 2022. It said a drunken man, Yogesh Rathwa, caused a ruckus in a school in the Chhota Udepur district of Gujarat. In his drunken state, he insulted Goddess Saraswati.
ABP Asmita also published a video report about the incident on 31 December. According to this report, a drunken teacher, Yogesh Rahtwa, insulted Goddess Saraswati in a school in Gujarat.
It is evident from these reports that the man kicking the photo of Goddess Saraswati does not belong to the Muslim community. Hence, we conclude that the claim is false.
