Social media users, including Sudarshan NewsTV, are circulating a video claiming that it shows a burqa-clad woman desecrating Sri Ram by throwing eggs at his poster.
They claim that the video is from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra. In the video, a woman can be seen standing on a platform, smearing something on a poster before riding away on the scooter.

Fact Check
NewsMeter found that the woman who defaced the poster is from the Hindu religion, and there is no communal angle involved.
We noticed the text āSri Ram Chowkā in the video. Taking this as a cue, we found on Google Maps that the video is from Sri Ram Chowk in Aurangabad which comes under the Usmanapura police station. The street view shows the banner of lord Ram on a platform and the text āSri Ram Chowkā as seen in the viral video.
Next, we performed a keyword search and came across a Marathi report of Sakal published on 21 May. It said that a woman who works as a postal assistant was arrested by Sambhaji Nagar police for desecrating multiple religious sites.
The report also carried a video of the police commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Manoj Lohiya. The officer clarified in the video that the woman belongs to the Hindu community and is suffering from mental illness.
The Twitter handle of the police commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar also posted a press release on 20 May. It identified the accused as Shilpa Ramrao Garu and also mentioned that the woman was suffering from mental illness.
Hence, we conclude that the woman who defaced the religious posters at Sri Ram Chowk in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar belongs to the Hindu religion, and any claim of the communal angel is false.
