So, the question is when and where did the incident actually happen?
FACT CHECK
NewsMeter found that the claim is false as the video is five years old and shows a flyover collapse in Varanasi that crushed 19 passers-by and their vehicles.
Is the video from Hyderabad?
No. On performing a simple reverse image search, we found a report by The News Minute titled āMan arrested for spreading fake news that Hyderabad Balanagar flyover collapsedā dated 25 February 2021.
According to the report, āThe Cyberabad police have arrested a man for spreading fake news on social media that the Balanagar-Jeedimetla flyover in Hyderabad crashed, killing several people. The police later verified that the video is two years old and was shot when a flyover collapsed in Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh.ā
We also found a tweet by the official handle of the Cyberabad police confirming that the incident did not take place in Hyderabad. Replying to a tweet asking if the Balanagar flyover had collapsed, they tweeted, āNo sir, Itās not belongs to Balangar, This incident happened in Varanasi, UP (sic).ā They also shared a screengrab of a Times of India article that reported the flyover collapse in Varanasi.

Taking Varanasi flyover tragedy as a cue, we ran a keyword search and found a report by The Indian Express which carried stills from the viral video. It is titled āVaranasi flyover collapse: Death toll reaches 18; rescue operation on, CM seeks report in 48 hoursā and is dated May 15, 2018.
We found the same was reported by The Economic Times, NDTV, and ABP News.
From this, it is evident that the video is from 2018 and the incident took place in Varanasi. It is not from Hyderabad. Hence, the claim is false.
