Fact Check: Viral image of Bollywood Khans with 'Tilak' on their forehead is edited

Hyderabad: A social media user shared an image of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan with a tilak on their forehead with misleading claims.

Well, this is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan have been trolled for worshipping and celebrating Hindu festivals. They have been called out for celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi and other prominent Hindu festivals for a long time now. Let’s find out the truth.

In September, Hindus celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were seen at Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's residence for Ganpati Puja on September 24th, 2023.
On running a keyword search, we found several videos uploaded on YouTube from the same event. Both Khans could be seen in blue and red pathani along with other Bollywood actors like Jackie Shroff, Bony Kapoor, Shehnaz Gill, Suniel Shetty, Aayush Sharma, and many more.
As they entered the puja venue, the Shinde family welcomed them with the Hindu traditional yellow scarves.
On closely analyzing the video, we could not find Salman or Shahrukh with Tilak on.
Moreover, we found a media report in The Indian Express carrying a photo gallery from the event. It was titled 'Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Shahnaz Gill and others at Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde Ganpati Darshan' dated 24th September 2023.
Scrolling down through the photo gallery, we found the viral image in one of them.
Here, we noticed that not only the Tilak is edited on the foreheads of the Khan but the image has also been manipulated. In the image, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are seen posing with Maharashtra CM. In the viral image, CM Eknath Shinde has been removed using photo editing tools, to show that both Khan's posed together.
