Fact Check: Is the viral image of the triple-decker bus authentic?

Hyderabad: Several social media users have posted an image of a triple-decker bus with questionable authenticity. A Facebook post claims that it is a real luxury bus and is a representation of where India is lacking when it comes to development.

In another Facebook post with the same image, a social media user claims that this luxury bus is manufactured in Chennai and will be used for tourism in Ayodhya.

Letā€™s find out the facts behind the viral image.

Fact Check

NewsMeter found the claim to be false as the viral image is merely a design by an artist. We started our investigation by closely analyzing the viral image and found that there is a watermark, @inspiringdesignsnet.

In one of the versions of the viral image, there attempts were made to erase the watermark to hide the origin of the viral image and spread misinformation.

On searching for the username on the web, we found a Facebook account. Scanning through the account we found the viral image that clearly shows it was merely a design made by the artist.

In the post, we found a link to the artistā€™s website and found multiple designs of different vehicles uploaded on the website.

We also performed a keyword search to find relevant media reports on a triple-decker bus but could not yield any media organization reporting on it.

Hence, it is evident that the viral image does not exist in the real world.
