Fact Check: Viral poster of corona vaccine appointment is fake
A fake poster about vaccine appointment has been circulating on various social media platforms.

This poster has been declared false by the Press Information Bureau (PIB). According to the PIB, the poster has been morphed and neither this number nor the telegram account is associated with @mygovindia.

The poster circulating on social media is fake.
NewsMeter searched that the viral poster was debunked by the Press Information Bureau. The poster was shared on the official Twitter handle of PIBFactCheck. The poster was shared with a caption, 'Claim:#COVID19 vaccination appointment can be booked on Telegram using 'MyGov Corona Vaccine Appt'.

The poster was further shared by Kerala Police on Twitter. "A message is being shared on social media which claims that Covid19 vaccination appointment can be booked on Telegram using 'MyGov Corona Vaccine Appt'. This message is fake. Register for the vaccine on: http://cowin.gov.in, UMANG or AarogyaSetu App #keralapolice #fakenews," " it tweeted.

NewsMeter dialed the contact number mentioned on the poster on Telegram and found that it is not available. NewsMeter then searched for reports that claimed the poster was morphed. A report by Hindustan Times stated that the government on Wednesday notified a false Telegram account that claims to help with the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccine appointment booking.
Newsmeter also visited the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and found that the registration for the vaccine can be done only via COWIN or Arogya Setu app.
Evidently, the viral poster is fake and as the contact number or the website is not available on Telegram.
