Fact Check: Viral video of Kajol changing dress is a deepfake
The video is a deepfake. It was created using English social media influencer Rosie Breen’s video and Kajol’s face.

Hyderabad: A video of Bollywood actor Kajol changing dress is doing rounds on social media.
Several social media users have shared the video. One of the Facebook users shared the video with the caption, “#kajol changing the dress.”

NewsMeter found that the video is a deepfake. It was created using English social media influencer Rosie Breen’s video and Kajol’s face.
By the end of the video, we noticed one eye of the person closed and the other open, indicating that the video could be a deepfake.
On performing a reverse image search of the video’s keyframe, we found the video showing identical visuals in a report by The Sun from June 7, 2023. However, it shows TikTok user Rosie Breen, not Bollywood actor Kajol.
The report talks about fashionista Rosie Breen showcasing fashionable comfy mid-sized outfits.

The Sun’s report credited the video to Breen’s TikTok account ‘rosiebreenx’. Since TikTok is banned in India, we have found an archived version of the post on TikTok showing the same visual.
In her Instagram bio, Breen identifies herself as a ‘UK-Indian Irish midsized gal.’
Hence, we conclude that the video is a deepfake created by superimposing Bollywood actor Kajol’s face on social media influencer Rosie Breen’s body.
