The caption reads, āMission impossible Pakistan goat theft at Karachi super highway.ā
Fact Check
NewsMeter found the claim to be false as the video is from Maharashtra, not Pakistan.
We ran a reverse image search using the keyframes from the viral video that led us to media reports by several news outlets like News 18, Times Now, and India Today.
The India Today report titled āG.O.A.T heist on Maharashtra highway,ā dated 1 May 2023, read, āA viral video of goats being stolen from a moving truck on the Igatpuri-Ghoti Highway has gone viral.ā
Other news outlets also reported the same.
On performing a keyword search, we found a tweet by the verified handle of UP police fact check reporting the incident.
The tweet read, āFrom the investigation so far and the signboard on the highway, this video has been found to be related to Igatpur Ghoti Road in Maharashtra and not from Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh. @unnaopolice has also denied this misleading tweet.ā
From this, it is evident that the viral video is not from Pakistan. Hence, the claim is false.
