Hyderabad: A video of a young woman marrying an old man is doing the rounds on social media. It is being claimed that the young woman married her father-in-law after her husbandās demise.
The video also shows the young woman acknowledging that she married the man of her own will. It also shows him saying that there was no one to look after her after his sonās death so they decided to get married.

NewsMeter found that the viral video is scripted.
On performing a reverse image search of the videoās keyframe, we found the extended version of the video uploaded by the YouTube channel Defensive Mode on 2 May. It carries a disclaimer at the end which reads āEverything in this video is imaginary. Imaginary because reality is too bitter to be told or shown. Events shown in this are not real compared to what has actually been happening in countries like ours.ā (Archive)

We also found the longer version of the video posted on Facebook on 4 June 2022. It, too, carried the same disclaimer.
Hence, we conclude that the viral video is scripted, and the claim that a young woman married her father-in-law is false.
