Fact Check

NewMeter noticed the logo of M7 News in the viral video. Taking this as a cue, we searched for the channel on YouTube and ran a keyword search which led us to the extended version of the same video, of better resolution, published on 11 April 2021.

According to the description, the video shows Kerala Governor Arif Muhmmad Khan visiting the Sabarimala Temple.

Further, we ran a keyword search about Mr. Khan's visit to Sabarimala Temple and found the video of the visit showing the same visuals published by ABP News. As per the description, Mr. Khan and his son visited the Sabarimala Temple last year to offer prayers.

Several media outlets had also reported Mr. Khan's visit to Sabarimala Temple. These reports also show the same visual as the viral video. (Source: The Times of India, Times Now, and Manorama News)

It is evident that the viral video shows Kerala Governor Arif Muhmmad Khan offering prayers at Sabarimala Temple. Hence, the claim that the viral video shows PM Modi offering prayers at Sabarimala is misleading.
