We came across a Facebook post from 2017 where D-Mart had clarified that there is no truth in the viral claim that GST rates are levied based on the bill. In its Facebook post, D-Mart clarified that the GST rates will be levied on each and every item and the rates of these items will be fixed as per the norms imposed by the tax department officials of the Central government. It also clarified that the GST rates will not be determined based on the total value of the bill.
