Fact Check: Yogi asks people to make him PM; he can make POK part of India? No, video is clipped
A video has been circulating online, claiming to show UP CM Yogi Adityanath urging people to make him Prime Minister.

Claim:The video shows Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urging people to make him Prime Minister so that he can make POK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) part of India.
Fact:The claim is false. The video is clipped as the unedited version shows him urging people to make Narendra Modi PM for the third time in a rally in Maharashtra in May 2024.
Hyderabad: A video has been circulating on social media, purportedly showing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urging people to make him Prime Minister.
He could be allegedly heard saying, “Make me the Prime Minister, and within the next six months you will see that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir will also become a part of India.”
The text in the video states, “Who wants to see Shri Yogi Adityanath as the Prime Minister in 2029?”
An Instagram user shared the video with the caption, “Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji Zindabad.”

Did Yogi ask people to make him Prime Minister?
A keyword search of the video’s keyframes led us to the longer version of the footage published by ANI on May 18, 2024, titled “‘PoK will become part of India within…’ CM Yogi’s big claim on PM Modi’s third term.”
Following the 1:33-minute mark, Yogi can be heard making the same statement in the viral video: “You will see—make Modi ji the Prime Minister for a third time, and within the next six months, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir will also become part of India.”
According to the news agency, “While addressing a rally at Palghar, Maharashtra, on May 18, 2024, Yogi had claimed that if Narendra Modi becomes Prime Minister for the third time, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir will become part of India within six months.
ANI quoted him as saying, “We will not worship our enemy. If someone kills our people, we will not worship them but give them an answer that they deserve. It has become difficult for Pakistan to save Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Let PM Modi become the Prime Minister for the third time, and within six months PoK will become part of India…”
This confirms that the viral clip is edited and does not show the full statement where Yogi is urging people to make PM Modi Prime Minister for the third time.
Was the statement reported by other media outlets?
In May 2024, Hindustan Times, The Times of India and The Economic Times also reported that Yogi made the bold remarks while addressing a public rally in Maharashtra’s Palghar that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir would become part of India within six months after PM Modi secures his third term in the Prime Minister’s office.
Therefore, we conclude that the video is clipped and the claim is false.
