Since then, millions of fans have been praying for her speedy recovery. But there have been some discomforting messages that are being circulated on social media stating she had passed away. Some have been sharing her pictures with RIP hashtags.

Fact Check: The official Health bulletin of Lataji is being released from time to time by the hospital as well as her family members. On Saturday, the official spokesperson stated that "Lataji is doing good today" but will be in hospital for a few more days.

Conferred Bharat Ratna in 2001, the iconic singer, who turned 90 on September 28, has recorded songs in over 36 Indian languages.
Born on September 28, 1929, she has also been honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award and France's highest civilian award, Officer of the Legion of Honour, besides numerous national and international awards.
In 1974, the Guinness Book of Records ranked her as the most recorded artiste in history. She had reportedly sung over 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1974.
The news of Lataji being admitted to the hospital is true but she is stable and recovering from viral chest congestion. So, the news of her demise is FALSE.
