Hyderabad, Dec 21: With Christmas round the corner, the aura of festivities is prevalent across the globe. In keeping with the pre-season celebrations, parties have picked up from Friday. Like everywhere else, so it is with both Telugu States.
In the run-up to the merry day, news that is gathering steam is an invitation that is going viral, especially on Twitter, claiming that TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy is going to attend Christmas celebrations conducted in DMCH School, Rajahmundry, in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Even a major electronic media house like TV9 has carried the news.
On performing a reverse image search of this image, Newsmeter has found another image without the name of YV Subba Reddy in the social media. The invitation had everything same except for the name of Mr. YV Subba Reddy.
On checking the image thoroughly, the celebrations seem to be organized by a committee called Christmas Committee, YSRCP Rajamahendravaram (Rajahmundry). Even after thorough searching, we were not able to find any previous activity of this committee online, not even in Rajahmundry. There are no social media handles on this name. The logo, which has YS Rajsekhar Reddy and YS Jaganmohan Reddy's pictures on it, is also not found online.
Around 21 names have been mentioned in the invitation and all the names of invitees and dignitaries have YSRCP member title to their names.
According to protocol, if a person of a high cadre like Mr. Subba Reddy, known politicians of that area are also invited, example, Local MLAs, MLCs etc. But there is such mention, except for names of some local members.
On Friday, Mr. Subba Reddy rubbished the reports of his participation in this event. He clarified that he was not contacted by any such organizers and that the invitation was a conspiracy against him. He added that he would lodge a police complaint and ensure that action is taken against the miscreants.
Hence, the claim that Mr. YV Subba Reddy, TTD Chairman as the chief guest for Christmas celebrations in Rajahmundry is FALSE. In fact, the whole invitation might be a fabrication.
