Fearing COVID, 67YO retired judge ends life at Miyapur

Hyderabad: A 67-year-old retired judge ended his life after suspecting to have contracted COVID 19 at Miyapur in Hyderabad on Friday.

Identified as Ramchandra Reddy Ramireddygari, he served as the Judge at District Court, Warangal and retired a few years ago.

He left a note stating that he did not want to trouble his family and therefore decided to end his life.

According to police, Reddy has been residing at Navanami Elite Apartment of New Cyber Valley in Miyapur, along with his wife and son's family.

On Thursday night, he went to sleep as usual after taking food. During the night, his son Rajeev Reddy, a techie, checked on his father and found him sleeping. On Friday morning, when Reddy's wife entered the room to wake him up, she found him hanging from the ceiling.

His family members told police that Reddy had been suffering from fever for the last one week. Since then he was of the opinion that he might have been infected with COVID 19.
