For the first time in last few weeks, no COVID-19 case reported in Kurnool district

Vijayawada: With one more Covid-19 death in Kurnool district, the toll has increased to 48 in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
The number of Covid-19 cases linked to the Koyambedu market in Chennai continues to be on rise in the state. Out of the 36 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, by Thursday morning, 21 visited the market.
Of the 21 Covid-19 cases linked to Koyambedu market, 12 are from Nellore and 8 from Chittoor district and one from West Godavari district.
According to the media bulletin issued by the State Command Control Room (health) on Thursday morning, the 36 new cases take the total number of positive cases in the state to 2,100. Meanwhile, one more person succumbed to the virus in Kurnool district, taking the toll to 48 in the state.
Meanwhile, the number of recovered discharged in the state continues to be more than the new cases reported and it crossed the 1,100 mark. Now, it stands at 1,192. In the last 24 hours, 50 people were discharged after recovery. The active Covid-19 cases in the state are 860.
A total of 9,256 samples were tested between 9 a.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m on Thursday.
Kurnool has not reported any new cases on Thursday. However, it continued to be the table topper with 591, highest in the state followed by Guntur district with 404 cases and Krishna district with 351cases.
So far, Kurnool district reported 18 Covid-19 deaths followed by Krishna district at 14 deaths and Guntur district with 8 deaths. Anantapur district reported 4 Covid-19 deaths and Nellore 3 deaths, while Vizag district reported one death.
