Former External Affairs Minister  Sushma Swaraj to be cremated with full state honours

The mortal remains of Former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will be kept for three hours at the BJP headquarters for party workers and leaders to pay tribute.

Her last rites will be performed at at Lodhi road crematorium with full state honours. President Ram Nath Kovind paid last tribute to former External Affairs Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader SushmaSwaraj, at her residence on Wednesday morning.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pay last respect to SushmaSwaraj at her residence on Wednesday morning. He will later attend her last rites in the evening.

The Delhi government has announced a two-day state mourning as a mark of respect in the memory of former Chief Minister and country's senior leader Sushma Swaraj.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted, "Delhi govt will observe two days state mourning as a mark of respect in the memory of former Chief Minister & senior leader respected Sushma Swaraj ji".

There will be no entertainment events conducted during this period. All other government business and programmes, including the Anganwadi programme to continue as scheduled.

Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack in New Delhi. She was rushed to the Emergency at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
