Hyderabad: A four member gang who allegedly raped a mentally unsound girl at Dundigal on the city outskirts, after promising to offer her food and money, were arrested on Saturday. One of the accused informed her that he was a police man and they took the girl with them to one of their homes located in an isolated area and raped her repeatedly, said Dundigal inspector A. Venkatesham.

After conducting medical tests on all the four accused Mohd Jumman, Pathan Akbar Khan, Mohd Gayaz and Mohammad Aleemuddin and finding that they do not have any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, they were produced before the court and sent to Cherlapally central prison.

According to the police, the victim (14) had left her home at Suraram Colony on Monday after a fight with her parents and hadn’t returned home till time, following which a kidnap case was registered. On Thursday night, the girl was found moving on the road and on being questioned, police found that four persons had raped her.

Based on technical evidence and other clues, the four accused were nabbed late on Friday night. They admitted to have raped the girl. Further police found that on the day of the offence, when they had come out of their homes, in search of liquor, they noticed the girl alone and begging for money. They lured her promising to give her money. After reaching an isolated house near Jumman’s house, the other accused joined them. Later Pathan Akram Khan tied her hands and eyes and all of them raped her repeatedly. Later they also gave her some money and warned her not to reveal about the incident to anyone and dropped her back at the place, from where they trapped her.
