Free last rites service for COVID patients launched in Rachakonda commissionerate

Hyderabad: Feed the Needy, a charitable organisation based in Hyderabad, will be launched another last rites service on Saturday, 8th August for people residing in the Rachkonda jurisdiction of Telangana State Police.

Feed the Needy launched its last rites service in Cyberabad jurisdiction on 4th July and in Hyderabad jurisdiction on 27th July.

The Last Ride Services is free of cost and will cater to carry dead bodies of COVID or Non-COVID for everyone. The service will be available from 8 am to 9pm. They will also take care of the cremation of any deceased body if no one is available to take care of last rights of their loved ones.

Feed The Needy Team launched its Free Last Ride Services in Rachakonda after transporting COVID deceased patient body from Hospital to the cremation ground in Hyderabad City. Commissioner of Police Rachakonda, Mahesh Bhagwat sought the extension of Last Ride Services in the Rachakonda Limits.

Feed The Needy is a team of 10 IT professionals, during the COVID pandemic helped to feed migrant & daily wage labourers. They also helped to arrange transport to their natives.

ā€œWe have provided 50,000 food packets & 35,000 Dry Ration/Grocery kits all over Hyderabad and in some other cities within the country during the lockdown,ā€ Said, Feed The Need member.

The commissioner said that ā€œthe group of 10 youngsters behind the initiative have also been working actively with SCSC as Volunteers with the Traffic Forum and also fed many during the lockdown. I am also thankful to VI Tech Systems Asia Pvt Ltd which sponsored the body bags.ā€
