FTCCI launches its first-ever women mentorship programme
By Newsmeter Network Published on 14 July 2020 4:07 PM ISTHyderabad: The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry has launched its first-ever mentorship programme for women in business. The programme will provide business-related training to women entrepreneurs, startups, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and will be headed by the Women Empowerment Committee of FTCCI.
"This is basically a MSME mentorship program for women to understand the new policies that have been brought in by the Minis of MSME to aid the businesses that have been hit by the pandemic," said Nisheetha Dixit Agarwal, Co-Convenor Women Empowerment Committee, FTCCI.
The training will be conducted in three sessions by mentor CS Kanika Gupta, a consultant at Ministry of MSME. While the introductory was conducted on Sunday, July 12th, the next ones will be conducted on 18th and 25th July.
"We had set a cap of 15 participants, but ended up taking in 22," Nisheetha said, adding that the women had applied from several other states as well and not just Telangana. The women who have joined the program deal in multiple sectors, such as legal, eco-friendly products, and home-made snacks.
"The pandemic shot up the unemployment rate in the country, and made it pivotal to learn the skill of income generation on one's own," Nisheetha added. She encouraged that FTCCI wanted to encourage the indigenous talent of women working at home, like those who are skilled in making home-based products such as pickle or papad.
