The director of enforcement vigilance and disaster management (EV&DM) has asked Edify World School to pay Rs. 10,000 for erecting banners and cutouts under the PVNR expressway. Meanwhile, a fine of Rs. 5,000 was imposed against Birla Open Minds School in Bandlaguda and Zoi Clinics in the Attapur area. The move comes following complaints on various social media platforms against illegal banners on city flyovers.
Vishwajit Kampati, the director of EV&DM, told NewsMeter, "We have issued a challan for an illegal board erected under the PVNR expressway. We have issued 93,000 such challans in the past five months against illegal banners, hoardings, cutouts, dumping in open drains, dangerous transportation, wall writings, and unauthorised dumping.
Imposing fines and issuing challans has helped reduced unauthorised banners and cutouts in the city and also helped create awareness among people about such illegal banners."
