Good news: 1,142 COVID-19 patients discharged in AP
By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 May 2020 7:24 AM GMTVijayawada: The number of Covid-19 cases linked to the Koyambedu market in Chennai continues to be on rise in the state. Out of the 48 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, by Wednesday morning, seven visited the Koyambedu market.
Of the seven, three cases are from Chittoor and four cases from East Godavari district.
According to the media bulletin issued by the State Command Control Room (health) on Wednesday morning, with the 48 new cases, the total number of positive cases in the state increased to 2,137. Meanwhile, one more person succumbed to the virus in Kurnool district, taking the toll to 47 in the state.
Among the 48 new cases, 12 cases were reported from Guntur district, 7 from Kurnool and three from Krishna district.
On the brighter side, the number of discharged in the state continues to be more than the new cases reported and it crossed the 1,100 mark. Now, it stands at 1,142. In the last 24 hours, 86 people were discharged after recovery.
A total of 9,284 samples were tested between 9 a.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, seven new cases in Kurnool took the count of positive cases in the district to 591, highest in the state followed by Guntur district with 399 cases and Krishna district at 349 cases.
